Case Variants
=============

Besides the friction-fit :doc:`PE-Edition <index>`, there are magnet-held case
variants contributed by the community. Download links for all parts are on the
:doc:`files` page.

Magnet Case
-----------

These models can be supplemented with magnets so you no longer have to hold the
front panel onto the case with a rubber band. The full procedure and more detail
are described in the contributor's Twitter thread.

Recommended magnets (from `supermagnete.ch <https://www.supermagnete.ch>`_):

- **Magnets:** 5 × 5 mm round, nickel-plated —

- **Metal plates:** 2 × 10 mm, self-adhesive —

Magnet Case — with button hole
------------------------------

This variant (update by *axelhamburch*, 838776) adds a hole in the upper area of
the front panel for a **12 mm LED button**.

.. note::

   You will need a drill and possibly a file for the *screen backplate*. Depending
   on which display you use, you may also need to file a feed-through for the
   ribbon cable.
